Armed with a punishing mix of blades and bullets, Lo Wang must traverse uncharted parts of the world to track down the dark beast and push the apocalypse back yet again. Developers claim that they wanted to make the player really feel over powered and from what I’ve seen, that has been accomplished beautifully. It’s brutal, its bloody, it got some of that intense Christmas lights headache visuals where its all a flurry of guts, people bits, blades, bullets and fire that keeps people invested. If I had to draw an immediate comparison, it looks considerably like an Asian inspired Doom or Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus but tied in with the classic comedy that accompanied its gameplay, much like Bulletstorm had. Thanks to the taste 17 minutes of gruesome gameplay that has been released, we can take a clear look at what the combat and movement is looking to feature. Besides that, the chunk of the gameplay will be brutalizing enemies and finding new ways to brutalize enemies. I get a strong feeling that although the story will be ever present and will provide the necessary narrative momentum to move the game forward with a clear and overarching enemy who cannot be ignored or forgotten.
